7:00 pm to 7:20 pm: Intro, songs — Shavuot has an abundance of agricultural customs, including bringing baskets of first fruits to temple and greening the shul by decorating with flowers, branches, and the special Jewish papercuts known as shavuosl.

7:20 pm to 8:30 pm: Learning session with Deborah Eisenbach-Budner"Revelation: What is it? Who wants it? Who gets it? What do we do with it?" Shavuot celebrates the climax of our liberation from slavery: a covenant giving/receiving drama around Mt. Sinai. We will look at Torah text as well as enjoy some of Marc Chagall’s visual midrash on this central moment in Jewish sacred memory.

8:30 pm: Dessert break!

9:00 pm to 11:00 pm: More learning with Sally Goldman & Wil Waring from Solidarity Shabbat, followed by “Queer Culture in the Book of Ruth” with Diane Chaplin and “Historical Perspectives of Shavuot” with Howard Patterson.
