We will be discussing "Dancing Arabs" / "A Borrowed Identity." Please watch the film prior to the discussion. A 2014 Israeli film based on the autobiographical book Dancing Arabs (2002). It tells the story of an Israeli-Palestinian teenager who moves to Jerusalem to attend an elite Jewish high school, where he meets Naomi, a Jewish student, and falls in love with her. As part of his school-mandated community service, he meets Jewish teenager Yonatan, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, and his mother Edna. The Ma'avar Committee is hosting an Advance Care Planning workshop on creating an Advance Directive with a special focus for the LGBTQI+ community. Advance care planning is a process of considering the types of healthcare decisions that may need to be made in a medical crisis or at the end-of-life then writing those decisions and preferences into an Advance Directive.
