Membership
Becoming a Member
We are delighted that you are considering Havurah Shalom as your community. Over 500 households in the Portland metro area have made Havurah their spiritual home.
Havurah does not have any specific criteria for membership. We allow anyone to join. We only ask that you have an honest interest in being part of our Jewish community. To discuss membership, please don't hesitate to email tara@havurahshalom.org. We would be happy to talk with you and answer any questions you may have!
If you decide that you want to be a member, please fill out the New Member Form and the Dues Commitment Form. Havurah offers great flexibility with regard to dues; we don't ever want finances to be an obstacle to membership, so we allow members to self-adjust dues.
Step 1: Complete the New Member Form
Step 2: Complete the Dues Commitment Form
Both the new member form and the dues commitment form must be filled out to process you as a member. If you have questions about the new member form, contact tara@havurahshalom.org. If you have questions about dues or the dues commitment form, contact Karen Westerman, our dues volunteer. A long-time Havurah member and past president, Karen would be happy to discuss this topic with you.
You will find a wealth of information about Havurah’s activities and programs on our website and calendar. If you are not sure about membership, but would like to receive our monthly email updates to get a sense of the community, you can email tara@havurahshalom.org and we will add you to our non-member email list. You can also check out our previous weekly emails and our monthly newsletters here. We look forward to meeting you!
