Personnel Committee
Personnel Committee
The Personnel Committee is led by Liz Joffe. Committee members include Hank Kaplan, Alanna Hein, Beth Kaye, and Katherine McDowell.
The committee's purpose is to advise the Steering Committee on personnel related issues (such as hiring, benefits and staff evaluations), by recommending employment practices that reflect the congregational values of inclusivity, equity, and fairness. The committee reviews, revises, and develops employment policies. The committee assists Steering in keeping the employee handbook current by developing and providing recommendations for Steering to consider and adopt.
In the context of employee evaluations, the committee provides advice on questions and procedures to inform the evaluation process, but it does not lead or participate in employee evaluations, which are conducted by the employee supervisors.
The committee does not have managerial or supervisory responsibilities, or serve as an HR department that directly fields employee questions, processes leave requests, or handles disciplinary matters.

Tuesday, Oct 28th 11:30a to 1:30p
What is Coming Home to Solidarity? Coming Home to Solidarity is a workshop designed to help us create a culture and community where all members freely show up as their authentic selves; where all are valued, appreciated, and have a sense of belonging. The workshop is an opportunity for white-bodied or white-identifying congregants to come together in a supportive and caring environment to reflect, learn and unlearn, heal from the ways we have been impacted by white supremacy, and start to recognize new possibilities for taking action. Havurahniks, click to learn more and RSVP. -
