Instructions

There are 2 steps to enroll in Shabbat School:

  1. Fill out the Enrollment Form, one for each child.
  2. Fill out the Tuition Form once.

Note: The enrollment and tuition forms are only visible to signed-in members of Havurah Shalom. To sign in, use the link at the top-right corner of this website, or click here to reset your password. Email Rachel Pollak (rachel@havurahshalom.org) for help with your login.

Enrollment Policy

In order for our family cooperative model of Grades K-6 Jewish education to continue to meet the diverse needs of families, their children and the larger Havurah community, we have the following policy for Shabbat School enrollment:

Families must be Havurah Shalom members by April 23 and enroll their children in Shabbat School by May 1 to ensure a spot for the upcoming year. From May 1 to August 1, enrollment in a particular grade is subject to space availability, in consultation with and at the discretion of the Education Director. Enrollment in Shabbat School is not available after August 1 for the upcoming year; families are welcome to join Havurah Shalom and fully participate in holidays, Shabbat celebrations, and all other family activities, of course. We are happy to speak with you about your family and Havurah Shalom at any time of the year.

Note about Tuition Increase

The goal of the Finance Committee is to make small and regular increases of 2 percent. Havurah remains committed to the support of the Youth Education Program as a responsibility of the entire community. The tuition amount for Shabbat School, therefore, covers supplies and some portion of the space maintenance and rent of the church. Staffing expenses are shouldered by the whole community. For Middle School and High School programs, the tuition amount covers paid teachers.

Fun fact: the number of families currently involved in Youth Education programs is around a quarter of the Havurah total membership of over 485 families.

For tuition assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact Deborah Eisenbach-Budner, Education Director.

Payment Information

You must be logged into your havurahshalom.org account to fill out the enrollment and tuition forms. You will have the option to “bill to account” when submitting the tuition payment form. Billing to account adds the tuition charge to your account while allowing you the option to delay payment. This allows you to pay by check or set up a payment schedule through the Havurah office.

To log into havurahshalom.org, click the “Login” link in the top right corner of any page. Enter your email address (the one to which the Community Email Newsletter is sent) and your password. If you don’t know your password, click “Forgot Password” and enter your email address on the following page to have an email with login instructions sent to you. Check your mail for a new message titled “Password Reset Requested.” Check your Spam folder if it doesn’t appear within 5 minutes. Click the link in the email to reset your password. You will be logged in after changing it.

If you have trouble logging in, call Rachel Pollak in the office (503-248-4662, ext. 2), and she will be happy to help.

Forms

  • Enrollment Form: Required for each student. This provides student information, parent/guardian contact info, emergency medical information, an emergency and transportation release, a Curriculum Treasury release, and student learning notes for teachers.
  • Tuition Form: Required to be filled out once for each family enrolling. If you will also be enrolling older children in Middle School, High School or the Cohort, you can include their tuition here as well, all at once. In addition to determining tuition, this form also includes the Youth Safety Policy that explains rules around adult and child interaction in our Youth Education Program. All parents must sign this release.
  • Youth Hebrew Classes: Terms of Participation and Enrollment Form: Use this form to enroll in optional Hebrew classes (grades 3 and up) and commit to the participation expectations.
  • Youth Safety Policy Form: If you are a parent/guardian who did not sign the Tuition Form, you must acknowledge that you have read the Youth Safety Policy that explains the rules around adult and child interaction at Havurah. You can sign the form at this link rather than fill out the Tuition Form again.
