Aaron Kahn's OneTable Dinner: Music & the Mediterranean
Friday, May 27, 2022 • 26 Iyyar 5782
7:00 PM - 9:00 PMContact Aaron Kahn for dinner location.Travel with us in sound and nourishment to Israel as we eat Israeli food from the woman-owned Lil' Shalom and explore the musical instruments, songs, and events that have passed down to us through generations of ancestry. We'll hear lute music to rekindle our connection to ancient Israel; the early mystical kinnor; improvise settings to the Song of Songs; learn about Israeli music in the early 20th century; and fast-forward all the way to Idan Raichel's current symphonic projects. 7:00 arrival! 7:20ish, musical blessings. 7:30ish, chow down. All who are passionate about music are welcome. If you play an instrument or sing, please bring it or your voice! Expression is our goal here, as we create musical settings to some of the above and bask in appreciation of the rest. It will be great to share stories, interests, talents, aspirations, and much more. NB: There is free street parking – a bit tough in the NW Portland neighborhood, but you can definitely find it. Lastly, this dinner is in honor of Tikkun Olam, which the world desperately needs right now. https://dinners.onetable.org/landing/Portland
