Wednesday, January 12, 2022 • 10 Shevat 5782
5:00 PM - 7:00 PMRSVP at Ecumenical MinistriesYou are invited to hear Randy Woodley speak about his newly released book Becoming Rooted: One Hundred Days of Reconnecting With Sacred Earth. Mr. Woodley, a Cherokee descendant, co-directs the Eloheh Indigenous Center for Earth Justice Partnership, which is part of the Eloheh Farm located here in Oregon that teaches about regenerative agricultural practices. The book raises awareness of the sacredness of Earth, as well as deals with themes related to the continuing impacts of colonization of indigenous lands that grew out of the Doctrine of Discovery.
This event is being hosted by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and will be recorded. We will be forming a book group (kickoff meeting January 18) to support us in the meditations, and ideas for reflection and action contained in the book. For more information, contact Michael Heumann.
