Please register/RSVP, below.

Please join us in person 4:30-6:30, or in Zoom Room Aleph 5:45-6:30! (Email info@havurahshalom.org for the Zoom login if you don't already have it.)

*** Havurah members: Click to volunteer at our Chanukah Celebration. Each shift is 15 minutes long. ***

All are invited to celebrate the lights of Chanukah at Havurah Shalom! Fun for adults, teens, and children alike. Bring family, friends, or just yourself! Our Chanukah celebration will include live music, a (vegetarian) latke potluck and tasting contest, dreidel playing, gelt, arts and crafts, a gaga pit (parent supervision required), storytelling, candle lighting and more!

Thank you from all of us to all Havurahniks who bring latkes to our Chanukah latke potluck and tasting contest--and thanks to all who come to enjoy latkes too! (Please note that we can't do any frying in our kitchen, but special Chanukah kitchen staff should be able to warm up already-fried latkes for folks in the microwave or oven.)

For gaga pit enthusiasts: The gaga pit and other activities will start at 4:30 pm and draw to a close at about 5:30, as candle lighting is set to begin at 5:45 pm, followed by storytelling. Again, parent supervision is necessary.

Our Tikkun Olam committees will be there too:

  • Living Lightly Gifts Table, hosted by the Havurah Climate Action Team (HCAT): Do you have toys, games, puzzles, jewelry, books, woven baskets, blank journals, or other items in your house that you no longer use/need, and are in good shape, that someone – child, teen or adult - might like to receive as a gift? Then bring them to the Chanukah party, and put them on one of the swap tables. Are you looking for a little gift to appreciate yourself or to give to someone else? Then come check out the swap tables at the Chanukah party. You do not have to bring an item(s) to take an item(s). All items are free for the taking! Any items left on the tables at the end of the evening will be packed up donated.
  • Winter Clothing Drive, hosted by the Havurah Poverty and Homelessness Committee: The Havurah Poverty and Homelessness Committee will collect winter coats and other needed items for the women and non-binary folks served by the Rose Haven day shelter. There is a substantial need for community donations this winter. Thank you. Items most needed: adult women's clothing, with a particular need for larger sizes - winter coats, raincoats, waterproof pants, durable pants, waterproof shoes/ boots, hats, gloves, hand warmers, socks, BRAND NEW underwear, and blankets.

Once you know you'll be joining for this celebration, please RSVP/register below (whether you are a Havurah member or not). Please indicate in the notes whether you'll be on Zoom.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
