7:00 PM - 9:00 PMCongregation Beth Israel, Schnitzer Family Center, Goodman Hall, 1972 NW Flanders StJoin Havurah's Poverty and Homelessness Committee in collaboration with Congregation Beth Israel's Social Action Committee! We will show a beautiful film made in Portland that highlights a quickly growing part of our homeless population: older adults.
No Place to Grow Old shows the challenges faced by newly homeless older people—people who simply are unable to afford decent housing. The film also shines a light on the systemic issues contributing to their plight. Featuring insights from local and national experts, No Place to Grow Old is a powerful call to action that emphasizes dignity and hope, envisioning a future where everyone, regardless of age, has a safe and secure place to call home.
Housing professional and Havurah member Rachel Duke will lead a discussion following the film.
