Shavuot Dessert Potluck Party (please enjoy dessert for this holiday, wherever you may be!)
Bring a traditional Shavuot dairy dessert, or some other sweet noshing, or just yourself!

8 to late: In-Person at Havurah and in Zoom Room Aleph

8 to 9 pm: :  Shavuot: A Holiday and Its Confused (and/or Evolving) Identity AND Making Art about Shavuot
Facilitated by Deborah Eisenbach-Budner
Is Shavuot a harvest holiday? A celebration of Torah? A time to eat dairy delights? What social, political, and spiritual forces help our Jewish holidays come to be what they are, anyways? We will touch on all of these questions through exploration of beautiful and complex traditional Shavuot papercut art (called Shevuoslekh and royzelekh). In-Person at Havurah and in Zoom Room Aleph

9 to 10 pm: Niggun Circle: Connecting through Wordless Melody
We’ll sing some familiar melodies and also learn one or two ones. Rabbi Benjamin and others will lead us in connecting to our voices, our bodies, and one another in this hour of immersive song. In-Person at Havurah and in Zoom Room Aleph

10 pm and later: Stories of Teshuvah
Facilitated by Rabbi Benjamin
We’ll explore narrative accounts of Teshuvah — repentance, repair — in Jewish tradition. From the Bible, the early rabbis, and Hasidic tales, we’ll consider what these stories suggest about Teshuvah, and how this sheds light on our practice of repentance and repair today. Stay for as long (or as short) as you like. In-Person at Havurah and in Zoom Room Aleph
