Havurah Shalom

Join experienced birders Cindy and Andrew Merrill to see how many different bird species we can find and identify at Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge in Sherwood. We’ll meet behind the Visitor Center, and then take a leisurely walk on the gravel/dirt trails. Birding expertise is not required. Bikes and pets are not permitted.

• The address of the refuge is 19255 SW Pacific Highway, Sherwood, OR 97140-9292. Enter the refuge from Highway 99. Drive past the fee booth (it’s free!), and then park in the big parking lot, which is adjacent to the Visitor Center building and the restroom building.
• We’ll meet behind the Visitor Center at 10 am.
• Bring binoculars if you have them, and water/snacks if you want them during the ~2 hour walk.
• The only restrooms are in the restroom building adjacent to the parking lot and after 10 am in the Visitor Center.
• Bikes and pets are not permitted.

This activity is being offered as part of Havurah Shalom’s celebration of the Hebrew month of Elul! As Elul precedes Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we use this time for study, reflection, and mental and spiritual preparation and inspiration.
