About Our B'khol Levav'kha Gatherings
On January 21, just after the inauguration, a number of Havurahniks gathered for B’khol Levav’kha—a moment to simply be together wholeheartedly. Rabbi Benjamin facilitated the gathering with meditation, song, reflection, and sharing. Together, we named and acknowledged our feelings and needs: feeling cracked, we needed to be held in patience; feeling overwhelmed, we needed to reconnect with discernment; feeling disempowered, we needed a sense of direction—or at least the space to trust that direction would come; feeling scared for our children, we needed reaffirmation that they are held dearly and cherished in this community.
Now, we're in the thick of it. And "it" is hard, painful, and confusing. It feels overwhelming and urgent. And still, I know that to be okay and to be wholehearted, I need to be held in calm, patience, and tenderness.
If you feel similarly—or are just curious—I’d love to invite you to join me and Ben Anderson-Nathe in continuing the work of B’khol Levav’kha. We'll start with a meditation, a chance to set down the need to act or “know” for a moment and instead focus on community as a source of solace. Next, we'll offer a prompt, something to help us meet this moment without getting stuck in the endless loop of “all the things”. We'll try to create a container for reflection. We'll share with and hear one another, regarding how we feel and what we need from community, holding space for folks to experience both listening/hearing and being heard. And then, of course, food and hanging out.
