11:00 AM - 2:00 PMHazelnut Grove (a self-governed tiny house village)For Havurah teens in grades 7 to 12.
Learn how to build all sorts of things at the Hazelnut Grove houseless community. Tivnu staff will teach you how to use the tools you need to help build up their community, according to their wishes. Tivnu will also frame the project in the context of Jewish values.
The location of this event will be Hazelnut Grove, a self-governed tiny house village. Drop off and Pick up at the parking lot entrance for Overlook Park, 1599 N.Fremont. A Tivnu staffer will walk the group down to the Village, which does not have an easy place to pull over. At 2 pm, teens will be walked back up to the Overlook Park parking lot to be picked up.
Bring a bag lunch and full water bottle or two (there is no running water at HG)
Wear clothes that can get dirty, sturdy closed-toed shoes or boots, rain layers, and a hat. Tivnu will provide work gloves. If you get cold easily, bring a hand warmer or two – if you don’t need them, folks living at HG will appreciate the extras. We’ll work rain or shine.
Work will include building projects for tiny house villages and any work the residents of Hazelnut Grove ask us to do to help build up their community. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to use tools to build stuff – our staff will teach you.
The registration period has closed.
