Our catered vegetarian Kabbalat Shabbat Dinner begins at 6:30 pm, followed by a Kabbalat Shabbat Service at 7:30 pm. Don't miss Rabbi Benjamin, Ilene Safyan, Chaim Wolin, Barry Lavine, and Karen Stolzberg as they lead us in a spirited and musical service to welcome Shabbat. Please RSVP for the dinner below. We offer dairy-free, gluten-free, and nut-free options, and you are invited to bring wine or juice to celebrate Shabbat. Childcare is available for kids age 2 to 8. We will have special guests at the dinner and service! Tikkun Olam Adelante, a subgroup of Havurah' s Sanctuary Committee, has invited six guests from the Ortiz Community Center in Northeast Portland. These staff members work closely with Havurah members who volunteer in various programs at the center. Please join us in welcoming them and find out more about Havurah's involvement with the diverse population this community center serves.

Dinner registration closes when the maximum number of seats have been filled, or at noon on Wednesday, June 6, whichever comes first.

Kabbalat Shabbat Dinner happens with the help of many volunteers. We especially need volunteers for 20-minute greeter shifts during the service. Greeters are able to watch the door from the social hall, where they can participate in the service, too. If you can help out, please let us know by June 4. If you are a member of Havurah, please follow this link to sign up for a greeter shift. We welcome volunteers to help with set-up or clean-up, too.

Whether or not you attend the dinner, we hope you will join us for our spirited and joy-filled Kabbalat Shabbat Service, which starts at 7:30 pm. The service will be led by Rabbi Benjamin, and music will be provided by our talented Havurah musicians. No RSVP is required to attend the Kabbalat Shabbat Service. All are welcome!
