Rumble on the River
A Portland Climate/Energy/ Safety Forum
6-8 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 17 — Havurah Shalom

The HCAT-sponsored Rumble on the River is a community forum on Zenith Energy & Portland’s Critical Energy Infrastructure Hub. A lineup of deeply respected health, public safety, energy, & environmental panelists will share information and respond to our concerns and questions.

Six to 6:30 is time to shmooze, have a snack, and visit climate action tables from local organizations. Six-thirty to 8 is the panel followed by Q&A.

This is a hybrid event and the panelist presentation will be recorded. Zenith and the CEI are extremely dangerous situations in our backyard. They require all of us stepping up to become aware and help pressure Portland to move forward with informed community involvement.

For questions: contact Michael Heumann or Jan Zuckerman. Pre-register below to receive a zoom link.

Portland is home to an enormous health, safety, and climate threat, located in NW Portland, in Havurah’s backyard. The Critical Energy Infrastructure Hub is a six-mile stretch of aging tank farms located in NW Portland along the Willamette River. Within the Hub is Zenith, bringing dangerous oil trains through our communities.

The CEI Hub holds more than 90% of all liquid fuel in Oregon. The entire Hub is in an earthquake liquefaction zone. The occurrence of the predicted earthquake would be catastrophic for our communities, the ecosystem and the entire lower Columbia River.

A coalition of organizations have been hosting the Rumble on the River series to educate the public for informed community involvement.

HCAT invites you to join us, bring your friends, and welcome:
