7:00 PM - 8:30 PMZoom Room HehGuest presenter Rabbi Laurie Zimmerman will talk with us about Reconstructing Judaism's past, present, and future approaches to Zionism.
Rabbi Zimmerman was ordained in 2003 by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia and serves as Rabbi at Congregation Shaarei Shamayim in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2015 she published a curriculum for children and teenagers titled Reframing Israel: Teaching Kids to Think Critically About the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. She has been a core organizer in the ongoing series "Reconstructionists Expanding Our Conversations About Israel/Palestine," which is cosponsored by Havurah Shalom. She is also actively involved with Wisconsin's immigrant rights organization, Voces de la Frontera.
