NEW! MUSIC JAMS
The monthly music jams at Havurah are going strong with much positive feedback from participants.
Two or three more people are needed to help with updating the notebooks (paper and online), setting up and putting away music stands, and developing plans for next year, including a budget. Meetings are only as needed, on Zoom. Please email Sharon Klin if you want to join in the fun of making music happen at Havurah. Thanks!

DESIGN COMMITTEE
The Design Committee is seeking new committee members. The work of the Design Committee includes anything that affects the beauty and spirit of Havurah’s building, including art, furnishings, colors, window coverings, lighting, flooring, and gates. We usually meet on an as-needed basis for creative brainstorming and more.
Contact Joan Peck and Marcia Suttenberg.
SAFETY COMMITTEE
The Safety Committee is looking for (1) a new co-chair and (2) new committee members who can participate in Havurah’s ongoing safety initiatives. No experience in safety issues is necessary. The goal of this committee is to help make safety matters at Havurah something the whole community takes ownership of.

BIKKUR HOLIM (VISITING THE SICK) COMMITTEE
The Bikkur Holim Committee welcomes interested Havurah members who would like to support Havurahniks in need of healing.

HISTORY COMMITTEE
The History Committee is looking for Havurahniks interested in becoming committee members and taking on special projects, such as compiling a history of Tikkun Olam projects Havurah has participated in over the years (which might involve looking through old photographs and identifying people and events as well as reading through old newsletters and excerpting interesting tidbits) and other project ideas you might aspire to pursue. You could form a team of two or three people for a topic/area or work independently.

LIFELONG LEARNING COMMITTEE
The Lifelong Learning Committee is looking for new leadership to help arrange and organize adult education classes and events. You don’t need to be a teacher or participant in the classes. You just need to have a passion for making sure we have a variety of classes offered throughout the year.
Contact Joel Beinin or Eve Berry.
TRANSPARENCY/INCLUSIVITY COMMITTEE
The Transparency & Inclusivity Committee is looking for people to brainstorm, envision, strategize, plan, or talk with congregants. Your input is needed as we work on improving the transparency and inclusivity of our communication systems. We’ll start with brainstorming about HaKol and delve into developing a committee charter template as a resource for those who are considering the formation of a committee. Come join us.

GESHER COMMITTEE
Are you someone who likes to step back and consider the broader perspective? The Gesher Committee wants YOU! We offer consultation to committee members and staff to help community projects embody the core values of Havurah. These are rich discussions and help us engage in participatory governance and planning. If you are a new Havurah member, we encourage you to think about joining the Gesher Committee; fresh eyes often bring fresh perspectives.

I.T. (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY) & CYBERSECURITY COMMITTEE
The IT and Cybersecurity Committee is looking for new members to help participate in Havurah’s ongoing cyber security issues and advise on IT policies, procedures, and other related matters. HAVURAH CLIMATE ACTION TEAM (HCAT)
With the new normal of extreme hot summer days and wildfire smoke, we are all affected by the climate crisis. Havurah Climate Action Team (HCAT) meets monthly and online as needed, to educate and support one another in tangible actions and political advocacy to address solutions. We are reaching out to Havuraniks of all ages and welcome new members to our team!
We enthusiastically want to hear your thoughts and vision for actions! Please join us via Zoom on fourth Mondays from 5:30 to 7 pm. Check the Havurah calendar for details/confirmation.

WELCOME COMMITTEE
The Welcome Committee is looking for welcomers and co-chairs. What better way to be part of our thriving community than to help share about all the great spiritual, religious, educational, cultural, and social offerings at Havurah and welcome new members! We strive to meet once a month. Join us to help create a welcoming place for all. We look forward to talking about this opportunity with you!

We are excited to bring mahjong back to Havurah. It is a fun, social activity that builds community, encouraging new friendships and cementing old ones. And while some of us may play elsewhere as well, we all agreed that restoring its place as an ongoing congregational activity will be a good fit for Havurah and those of us who play or want to learn the game. So please don't hesitate to join us! -
