The Havurah Climate Action Team invites you to a community forum to learn more about Zenith Energy's Tar Sands Oil Expansion in NW Portland and ways to stop it. Zenith Energy is one of dozens of polluting industries on the banks of the Willamette River. It is expanding its terminal to accommodate four times the amount of oil trains loaded with Canadian Tar Sands crude coming through Portland for export to Asia. This is taking place without public input.

Third in a series of Community Forums on Zenith Energy's tar sands oil export expansion, we ask how does this on-going facility construction benefit or harm our people, city, rivers, region and climate?

A variety of perspectives will be presented, including the unjust burdens of this project on communities of color, threats to human health and safety, increased oil-by-rail traffic and the public right to protect neighborhoods, air and water.

The community event will supply background, climate justice impacts, health and safety risks and ideas for public action on Zenith's oil terminal.

Havurah youth will participate in the forum.
