Havurah Sanctuary Committee Meeting - The mission of the Havurah Sanctuary Committee is to explore and plan actions of accompaniment and political actions that demonstrate our commitment as a Sanctuary Congregation. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 7:00 pm in the social hall of Havurah Shalom. At this meeting we will review our plans for relationship building and action with the community in the Cully neighborhood and hear about how we can accompany individuals to their ICE check-ins. We will also hear an update on the support we are providing to the Gorge ICE Resistance in opposition to the collaboration happening between ICE and the NORCOR county jail in The Dalles. In addition, we will discuss our actions at the upcoming High Holiday Services. All are welcome, and we hope you will join us. Our Community Minyan is a welcoming and spirited service that includes davening, Torah reading and discussion. Led by Rabbi Benjamin and community members. Childcare is available.

We are holding a picnic/Havdalah celebration to welcome Rabbi Benjamin and his family. We will have games for children, potluck dinner, music and Havdalah. Come at 5:30 to start the games, and dinner will begin around 6'ish. Place: Laurelhurst Park (on the north side, on SE Ankeny) - picnic areas E and F (near the restrooms) Food: Potluck vegetarian salads and desserts (we are working on the possibility of sub sandwiches as well) Bring: Food, beach chairs, blankets, games and children
