This course is for beginners, even those who have “begun” before. Focusing on basic reading competency, we will uncover bits of Judaism that are only accessible through its original language. Our text has online home practice. Taught by Deborah Eisenbach-Budner.

The journey of parenting is both highly demanding and profoundly rewarding. Through contemplative spiritual practice, Jewish and otherwise, we are given tools to help us more capably meet its challenges and appreciate its blessings. In this session, Rabbi Benjamin will lead us through some basic techniques of mindfulness practice, and we will reflect together about how we might utilize them in our parenting.

Join us for this casual, family-friendly, and music-filled service. Beginning with candle lighting, Kiddush and challah, the service continues with prayers and music, followed by a vegetarian potluck dinner. At this workshop/learners minyan, we will walk through Shabbat morning for a Bar/Bat mitzvah and practice leading some of the prayers. We’ll talk about what goes into a B’nai Mitzvah service, including the Torah service, and we will practice some prayers together with youth participation. Childcare is available. Deborah Eisenbach-Budner and Rabbi Benajamin will lead this workshop. Pizaa lunch will be provided at no cost.
