On Friday nights, we sing a blessing when we light the candles and a blessing for the kiddush. You can hear the beautiful voice of Ilene Safyan, Havurah's Music Coordinator, as she sings these blessings:

Come join the poetry circle and invite poetry to uncover moments of insight about ourselves, our relationships with others, and the state of the world, in preparation for the New Year. Fran Payne Adler and Willa Schneberg will read poems of reflection for Elul, poems of other poets, and their own poems, followed by a discussion of what these works of introspection spark within you. -

Produced over two years by Gesher and 23 Havurah members in all, this 12-minute video features music, still pictures of Havurah being Havurah, a voice-over narrative about our congregation, and video interviews with 12 wonderful members and 1 vivid, passionate rabbi—telling Havurah’s story of community (kehillah), spiritual practice (tefillah), education (limud), and social action (tikkun olam). -

**Note: Registration for this group is now closed.** During the month of Elul, we are guided to examine our souls, explore our relationships, reflect on our actions with God and others, and prepare ourselves spiritually to begin a new year. With the Spirit of Elul, we will journey into exploring the aspects of grief. For Havurah members only. Limited to 8 people. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions. -
