MACG Action Teams

Housing Research Action Team

MACG has Housing Research Action Teams in Multnomah and Clackamas counties researching and acting on creative solutions to the region’s housing crisis.

The teams both work on leadership development and engagement so they are ready to respond to local advocacy needs as they arise, and continue to do research actions to discover new ways to make a concrete difference on this critical issue.

Focuses currently include state-level tenant protections, countering NIMBYism, and Safe Overnight Shelter outreach and technical assistance.

Immigrant Rights

MACG has two research action teams focused on immigrant rights, one in Washington County and one in Multnomah County.

We are committed to inclusive practices that promote full participation by our Hispanic participants so that we can have those with a lived experience of the problem areas we’re working on leading the work, in solidarity with our other members. We ask our Latino leaders what works for them in our meeting practices. Toward that end, we work to reduce the barriers to their participation by providing language interpretation, child care, and scheduling and locating of meetings to accommodate their family and work obligations.

Currently, the Washington County team is researching the issue of mental health in the Latino community.
